Historic Staunton Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to promote the preservation and reuse of Staunton's historic buildings, both residential and commercial. HSF provides such services as its Design and Technical Assistance for Rehab Program, which offers owners of older properties guidance on appropriate methods of maintenance and repair, from paint types and color schemes to the development of complete plans for rehabilitation, and its Financial Incentive Assistance Program, which provides information on and assistance with available financial incentives for rehab, including the local Tax Abatement Program and Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credits. The Foundation also coordinates heritage education and tourism programs to make both residents and visitors more aware of Staunton's important historic resources.
Membership in HSF is not limited to residents of Staunton; it is open to all who share its historic-preservation goals. To enquire about joining, contact Amy Masterman, Executive Director, Historic Staunton Foundation, 120 South Augusta Street, Staunton, VA 24401. Telephone 540-885-7676.
