THREE SISTERS Cabin is one of only a few surviving two-story log cabins along Virginia's scenic and world-renowned Blue Ridge Parkway.FULLY RESTORED and carefully modernized, Three Sisters Cabin offers a unique step back in time and stunning year-round getaway opportunity like no other -- peace and quiet, solitude and privacy, yet easy access to noted recreational and historic sites and historic Shenandoah Valley towns and other attractions.
JUST BEYOND the Cabin's split-rail fence there are miles of hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), mountain-bike trails, and trout streams that offer some of the best hiking and trout fishing in the east.
A SHORT DISTANCE by car are Wintergreen Resort, known for its world-class golfing and skiing facilities; the historic towns of Lexington and Staunton, both approximately 30 minutes away, and each offering fine restaurants, wonderful shops, and historic sites to see; and numerous other Valley attractions.
ACCOMODATIONS:
Downstairs Three Sisters Cabin has a cozy living room with woodstove, queen sleep sofa, easy chairs and dining area. A skylit post-and-beam fully appointed kitchen has large windows that look out into the woods. Just off the kitchen is a stone terrace, herb and perennial garden. The bathroom is also post and beam with glass. It is modern and comfortable and has a shower.
Upstairs there is a large, open bedroom with vaulted ceilings, a ceiling fan and skylights. There are two four poster beds (one three-quarter and one full size) and an old timey sleeping loft that is accessible by ladder.
THE PARTICULARS:
Three Sisters Cabin is available for rental year round. The current rate is $135.00 per night, two-night minimum, double occupancy. Extra person, $20.00 per night. Occupancy limited to six. Discounts are available for extended stays.
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of deposit equaling 50 percent of the cost of your total stay. Deposits are refundable up to 14 days in advance of your scheduled arrival. After that time, deposits are refundable only if the cabin is re-rented.
Linens, towels, blankets and quilts are provided, as are firewood and kindling for the wood stove. Pets and smoking are not permitted in the cabin. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
DIRECTIONS:
From Interstate highway I-81, take Exit 205 for Steeles Tavern. Go east on Rt. 606 to Rt. 11; turn left on Rt. 11, then immediately right on Rt. 56. Take Rt. 56 up the moutain; go under the stone overpass of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Approximately 1½ miles beyond the Parkway overpass, turn left on Rt. 686 (Zinks Mill School Road). Then look for the Three Sisters sign on the right (the first driveway on the right).
From the Blue Ridge Parkway, exit at milepost 27 for Montebello; turn left on Rt. 56 (east); go approximately 1½ miles; then turn left on Rt. 686 (Zinks Mill School Road). Look for Three Sisters sign (the first driveway on the right).
